My Journey So Far

A few weeks ago I was your typical teen, leaving college with no idea what to do next. I was scouring the internet for jobs I may like, with no luck. Every social media or marketing job I was interested in struck me with the same old line “experience needed”.

However, The Juice Academy offered something completely different to anything I’d seen before. Not only would I be working full time, I would be have on the job training from specialists who work in the industry every day.

As boot camp approached I had mixed emotions. I was excited by the thought of getting my dream job; however I was nervous of the unknown. Surprisingly, the day was filled with exciting and enjoyable tasks, not like your average job interview. I particularly loved the “speed dating” task in which we had 5 minutes to talk to every employer, our time to shine!

I was absolutely delighted when Tangerine offered me a job as I knew it was a great opportunity to gain experience and set me off on the path to a career in social media and marketing!

In my first week the company had an away day, where we had to get in groups and think creatively to help pitch an idea to the board. We had to think outside the box and work as a team to create a presentation, with all our excellent ideas merged together. I instantly panicked about presenting to a crowd of people, however I thoroughly enjoyed the day and I already feel a lot more confident.

Everybody here is so friendly and I already feel part of the team. I have loved my first few days at Tangerine and I am certainly looking forward to working hard and learning lots more!
