The Juice Academy celebrates new partnership with the Chartered Institute of Marketing & Northcoders

August 1, 2017

The Juice Academy – the multi award-winning social media apprenticeship, launched in 2013 by Tangerine Communications to create quality career opportunities in digital marketing for young people – is celebrating after being named a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Accredited Training Centre.

The Academy has also partnered with Northcoders – one of the region’s leading coding boot camp organisations – to offer coding to apprentices for the first time as a standard part of the training programme, making Juice Academy apprentices even more valuable to employers and the regional economy.

“Over the past four years, we have created roles for more than 200 young people in some of the region’s leading companies,” explained Juice Academy founder and chair, Sandy Lindsay MBE. “With the new programme we are about to launch, these young people will now become even more useful to their employers and even more employable in the wider market. Not only will they achieve a level three apprenticeship, but also a level four CIM digital marketing qualification and a coding certificate as standard.

“The course will increase to 18 months and the young people will work through a rigorous programme of practical, hands-on learning, alongside training from some of the best people in the business, including digital strategists from Tangerine’s own team, coding tutors from Northcoders and top notch guest speakers from the wider sector. This will make Juice Academy apprentices and apprenticeships some of the most sought after in the sector and we’re really excited to move into this new phase.”

Diane Earles, Network Manager for CIM, has always been a supporter of The Juice Academy, sitting on its Advisory Panel from the beginning: “Programmes such as The Juice Academy are vital to ensure the creative and marketing sector can continue to progress and grow in the UK and I’ve always been a big supporter, so I’m delighted to be able to ‘officialise’ our partnership in this way and look forward to seeing the programme becoming even better than it was.”

“Northcoders and The Juice Academy have always shared philosophies and values,” said James Brooke, co-founding of Northcoders. “And we’re looking forward to being a real part of making apprentices even more fundamental to employers all across our region.”

The new format programme launched last week with 20 leading employers on board, including Manchester Pride, The Market Creative, Pixel Kicks and Travel Counsellors. The team is now accepting employer enquiries for its October 12th intake.
