University graduate turned apprentice - One step back, five steps forward

As apprentices at The Juice Academy, we get asked a lot about our backgrounds e.g. how we came to be here and what education we’ve done before. Whenever I explain my background, people always react in the same way when I tell them that I’m a primary school teacher. It’s usually followed by a mixed reaction of “really?!” and then genuine interest into how I’ve gone from teaching in a classroom to being a social media apprentice. This is usually followed by a discussion about university vs apprenticeship. But that’s not what I’m doing here. I’m not going to say that university or an apprenticeship is better.
