Apprenticeships: From GCSE's to the bright lights of TV

Last week (Monday 16th May) marked the launch of a very exciting campaign – Get In Go Far, of which I was privileged to be a part of! #GetInGoFar is aimed at inspiring the next generation of young apprentices, showing them that an apprenticeship is just as effective as attending college or university. From an apprenticeship, you learn new skills, get paid and can even get a degree – what’s not to like?! It all started 4 months ago with a single email. Little did I know that this email would lead to me being on national TV, thousands of billboards across the UK and on every social network you could think of! I had a film crew follow every aspect of my life, multiple photo shoots and even got

Apprentices across the country are the stars of the Get In Go Far campaign, that calls on young people to kick-start their career by choosing an apprenticeship. The new campaign shows young people, their parents and employers that work-based routes into employment are no longer ‘second best’ to a university education and highlights the top quality opportunities available in some of the thousands of businesses. Get In Go Far builds on the success of the apprenticeship campaign that ran throughout 2014 and led to a 140 per cent increase in telephone enquiries to the apprenticeships helpline and a big increase in web traffic to the Government’s apprenticeship website. The Beginner's Guide to SEO

For the last few days SEO has taken over my entire work life (well nearly my entire work life) meaning that I have had to get to grips with it pretty quickly. We mainly use SEO at Workshop Marketing to help clients rank in Google. The main purpose of this is to help them be seen against their competition and ideally appear on the first page of Google for a number of terms. This means writing quality content with specific keywords that target audiences would search for. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and it’s the process of increasing the visibility of a website or particular web page within a search engine’s results. This process is often referred to as ‘natural’ or ‘organic’. Bot
