From Apprentice to Performance Marketing Director: Ethan Taylor’s Journey with The Juice Academy
Before joining The Juice Academy, Ethan Taylor was at the very start of his marketing career. At just 18 years old and having chosen not to go to university, he entered the workplace knowing he wanted to build a long-term career in marketing but aware that his age and limited experience could hold him back. He was ambitious, curious and eager to learn, but needed the right environment to develop confidence and practical expertise.

Ethan chose The Juice Academy for its in-person training model and its strong sense of peer learning. Training alongside others at a similar career stage meant he could ask questions freely and learn without fear of judgement. Just as importantly, the course was led by practising industry experts, professionals actively working at the forefront of marketing, which made the learning feel current, relevant and immediately applicable.

One of Ethan’s biggest challenges was being the youngest in the room. Without a university background, he sometimes felt he had to work harder to prove himself. However, what he lacked in experience, he made up for with commitment and a clear desire to progress. The apprenticeship provided him with a structured, recognised pathway into the industry at a time when he needed both credibility and direction.

The course content closely aligned with Ethan’s day-to-day role, allowing him to apply new techniques and strategies immediately at work. He developed advanced performance marketing skills and learned approaches that even more experienced colleagues had not yet encountered. The ongoing support from The Juice Academy team and his fellow apprentices played a key role in building his confidence and accelerating his professional growth.

By the end of the programme, Ethan had not only strengthened his technical skillset but had also developed a strong professional identity as a marketer. His early exposure to industry best practice positioned him ahead of the curve and laid the foundation for rapid career progression.

Today, Ethan is the Performance Marketing Director at Apprentify Group, where he leads all revenue-generating marketing activity for a Times Top 100 Fastest Growing Business. Having joined the organisation initially as a Digital Acquisition Manager, his progression reflects both his capability and the impact of the apprenticeship pathway.

Now managing both current and former Juice Academy apprentices himself, Ethan sees first-hand the same growth journey he experienced. Watching new marketers develop their skills and confidence reinforces his belief in apprenticeships as a powerful route into leadership.

Looking ahead, Ethan continues to enjoy his leadership role and remains focused on progressing his career further. The foundations built through The Juice Academy have shaped not only his technical expertise but also his long-term ambition, setting him on a trajectory of continuous learning and professional advancement.
