From Music Graduate to Content Marketing Executive: Meg’s Journey with The Juice Academy
Before joining The Juice Academy, Meg had always planned to build a career in music. A creative from a young age, she trained in piano and singing, became an Associate of the London College of Music at 15, and went on to study Music at the University of Huddersfield. Alongside her studies, she immersed herself in creative projects, from promoting live events and working backstage on theatre productions to coaching singers and running a choir in a maximum-security prison.

When Meg graduated in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic had significantly impacted the arts sector, making roles in music and theatre extremely difficult to secure. Determined to find a creative career with long-term stability, and with plans to move to Manchester, she began exploring alternative opportunities. It was during this search that she discovered The Juice Academy and applied for the Junior Content Producer (now Content Creator) Level 3 apprenticeship within the internal team, marking a complete shift into a new industry.
Entering marketing for the first time, Meg’s goal was to learn as much as possible, build a strong foundation of practical skills, and develop the confidence needed to succeed in a professional environment. While she was comfortable performing on stage, she wanted to improve her confidence in areas such as presenting, recognising her value, and speaking up at work.

As part of the first cohort to complete the programme remotely, Meg was supported through regular one-to-ones, group learning, and ongoing guidance from The Juice Academy team. The course allowed her to apply new skills directly in her role, particularly in video editing, podcast production, photography, and social media. These experiences helped her discover a strong interest in content creation and gave her the opportunity to lead projects with real impact.

During her apprenticeship, Meg achieved several standout milestones, including winning Apprentice of the Year at the Manchester Publicity Inspiration Awards in 2021. She also led social media coverage for major industry events and supported other apprentices, gaining early leadership experience alongside her technical development.

Today, Meg works as a Content Marketing Executive, supporting multiple brands across social media, content, websites, and wider marketing operations. Her progression from apprentice to executive-level role reflects a significant increase in responsibility, confidence, and capability, particularly following The Juice Academy’s acquisition by Apprentify.

Looking ahead, Meg is focused on progressing into a more senior role, with a strong interest in leadership and mentoring. She hopes to continue developing her career while eventually applying her skills within the music, arts, or charity sectors, combining her creative roots with the professional foundation built through her apprenticeship.
