TANGERINE TRIUMPHANT AFTER TRIPLE WIN FOR SOCIAL MEDIA APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME
Leading integrated communications consultancy, Tangerine, is celebrating after scooping three prizes and an impressive overall ranking in last night’s third national Top Employers for School and College Leaver’s Awards. The awards celebrated the success of Tangerine’s Juice Academy, which is an industry-led social media apprenticeship.
A panel of industry experts awarded Tangerine with the ‘Best Advanced Apprenticeship’ award and also compiled a list of Top Employers rankings, placing Tangerine in third position out of 70 Top Employers for School & College Leavers, above leading brands such as Deloitte, Virgin Media and Jaguar Land Rover.
Organised by Allaboutschoolleavers.co.uk, thirteen other categories were voted for by apprentices, as well as employees and sponsored degree students from all over the country via anonymous satisfaction surveys. Students and employees rated companies on various criteria including skills development, career progression and salary. Other factors such as working environment and overall job satisfaction were also taken into consideration.
Tangerine, which launched The Juice Academy almost three years ago, was voted ‘Best Newcomer’ as well as picking up the award for ‘Best School & College Leaver Recruitment Campaign’
Held at the Oxo Tower on London’s South Bank, on Monday 18th May, the awards recognise companies which are pro-actively raising awareness of and supporting apprenticeships, school leaver programmes and sponsored degrees.
Since its inception, The Juice Academy, which was the UK’s first ever industry-led social media apprenticeship programme, has trained more than 80 young people and many graduates have gone on to enjoy exciting opportunities with some of the UK’s biggest brands including JW Lees, Regatta, BetFred and Pets at Home.
Sandy Lindsay, Tangerine’s founder and chair, said: “We launched The Juice Academy in response to a growing skills gap in all areas of commercial social media. We’re successfully nurturing the digital talent of the future while offering on-the-job experience. It’s wonderful, not only to be recognised for this achievement with three national awards, but because these awards have been voted for by the apprentices themselves.”
