Lydia’s gone Cuckoo for social media

It took me a while to decide which direction I wanted my career to go in. After doing my research into the career options available to me, I knew straight away that I didn’t want to go down the university route. I knew the path I wanted to take was to work in something that I loved, and incurring no debt was a bonus!

Like many other people my age, I use social networks actively and write my own blog. When I stumbled across The Juice Academy social media apprenticeship I thought it was the perfect opportunity.

Once I had looked into the details and researched the employers with placements available, I knew that applying for the apprenticeship was a step I had to make. I was impressed with everything The Juice Academy had to offer, and I loved the thought of earning the equivalent to what I would have spent on one year at university! It was not only the first step of my career, but a welcome ticket into the world of social media and digital communications.

I was delighted to be invited to the bootcamp day, and it was there that I found – and was offered – the perfect opportunity with Cuckoo Design, a branding and creative marketing agency that offers branding, advertising and marketing.

Although a little bit overwhelmed, I was incredibly excited and grateful that I was given a chance to work with this agency and learn specialist social media skills. I am really loving the experience at Cuckoo Design and get up every morning looking forward to what the day will bring.

I was handed the chance to interact with customers and create campaigns for numerous hotels across social media platforms. I quickly gathered how to schedule in posts and feel comfortable in my job role. In the near future I will be writing blogs for Cuckoo Design, which I am really looking forward to, and helping with their own branding on social media platforms. I am excited to see what Cuckoo has in store for me.
